Andover Landscape Design and Construction’s in-house landscape architect and partner of the firm, Russell Stott, has been chosen as one of New England Home Magazine’s “5 Under 40” award recipients for 2018.

This highly-sought-after award is regarded as a major career accomplishment in the design field, and the entire Andover Landscape Design and Construction team is incredibly proud of Russell.

Russell accepted his award on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the ninth annual Champagne Reception held at presenting sponsor Landry & Arcari’s Boston showroom. A select group of top-tier trade professionals, including the 2018 honorees, their colleagues, previous winners, judges, and more gathered to congratulate the following winners in their respective categories.

“Now in the ninth year, the “5 Under 40” awards spotlight the hottest emerging talent in high-end residential design in New England, including architecture, interior design, landscape design, and specialty design such as textiles, furniture, or home accessories.” - New England Home Magazine

Understanding that the landscape design must complement the rest of the property's architecture and surrounding environment, Russell carefully creates a well-thought-out plan to execute the job requested by the clients. Every project is architecturally-driven by a site plan that is hand-rendered to achieve the rich feel of a true original. Having been classically-trained and mentored by some of the industry's best, Russell brings true artistry to the design process.

Russell is extremely excited and honored to be joining the other award recipients, and looks forward to the upcoming event where the rug he designed as part of this award will be auctioned off for charity.

"Each year, the “5 Under 40” winners partner with presenting sponsor Landry & Arcari to design their own one-of-a-kind rugs, all five of which are auctioned off at the awards ceremony in September. All auction proceeds go to Barakata Cambridge, Massachusetts-based nonprofit dedicated to providing exemplary basic education in Afghanistan and Pakistan that advances literacy and increases access to secondary education, specifically for girls and women." - New England Home Magazine

Boston Magazine awarded Andover Landscape Design and Construction as the 2018 Best of Boston Landscape Design/Build company in its industry in recognition of quality and excellence.

Andover Landscape Design and Construction owners, John Nardozza and Russell Stott, are honored to be presented with this prestigious award. With over 25 years in the industry, clients trust John and Russell’s expertise to transform properties with respect to the surrounding environment, architecture and style of the home, and materials used to complete each project.

With dedication to local materials and sustainable plantings, Andover Landscape’s designs seem to emerge naturally from their surroundings. In one project, a plunge pool is transformed into a secluded swimming hole bordered by natural stone and flowers. In another, a stone stairway winds up a grassy hill toward a serene lakeside patio.

Sited on a road hemmed with traditional Cape and Colonial houses, this new custom-built contemporary home is, among other things, intriguing.

Overlooking Andover’s Fish Brook wetland—a haven for wildlife including great blue heron, hawk, beaver, and fox—the house pays homage to the view from every angle. In fact, its very existence is owed to that view, as it was the impetus for the family’s purchase of the lot. “Everything was about the view of the wetland area—the siting of the house, the interior layout and design, and specifically the landscape,” says Russell Stott, landscape architect and partner at Andover Landscape, the firm responsible for the project.
